On 26th Jan 2019 we had a small reunion of alumni from MES School, Bangalore. Mr.Rama Prasad was the co-ordinator that initiated this event and selected Chukki Mane as the destination.
Chukkimane team had customized the itinerary to suit reunion program so that they experience the true essence of village tourism.
The Guests arrived at 10:30am for breakfast – Thatte Idli, uddina vada, upma, Kesari bath, served with coffee and tea.
Our hosts took the group to the farms and gave lot of insights about the sustainability practices and permaculture activities also explained from 3 tree to 3000 trees plantation adopted to grow various exotic fruits and nuts.
At Chukki Mane we have trees of forest horticulture & herbal types, Creepers, Herbal plants, Flower plants(From the surrounding area) and much more. After the farm tour, the group planned to visit Gaganachukki waterfalls and belakavadi village weekly market to purchase rural artifacts and some fresh produce from the fields.They came back at 2:30pm, meanwhile Chukki Mane team had prepared a traditional Mysore cuisine lunch and served it hot on a banana leaf. At lunch, finger millet ragi balls, Vegetable sambar, Puri sagu, Rice, Rasam, Vegetable Salad, Jaggery payasam and sweet boondi etc were offered.
The Guests experienced the village style food and expressed a great joy that left them lip smacking and raving about the taste and quality of the food.
They took rest at one of our thatched hut for half hour, then we took few members on bullock cart to visit backwater of cauvery river. On the way back, explored Javaganahalli village life and farmers working at paddy fields and different agricultural activities. At backwater of river cauvery they witnessed different species of exotic birds.
At 5:30pm all of them gathered and had tea and coffee. They were discussing about the personal and professional life. At 6:30pm all came back to Chukki Mane.
