As part of our stay, we visited a near by dam and had a chance to sit and relax by River Cauvery. And the owner Sanjay took us around a near by village called Belakavadi where the villagers were absolutely adorable and amazing. They welcomed us to their homes.
I highly recommend staying here if you are a passionate nature lover and want to unwind from the busy city life. More

Sanjay, the owner, arrived later in the afternoon and took us for a village tour - it was awesome to see the village architecture and we were even shown a village accomodation from inside - all the houses there have similar architecture with pillars outside. We then went to the cauvery river besides a temple and the serenity and birds we saw was nice. Sanjay has a very good knowledge of birds and it was awesome to see so many of the species. We also got a very good tour of the 4 acre farm with multiple fruit trees - tasted tamarind, lemons, wood apple etc - quite informative. Awesome part was to get to play village games - gulli danda, tyre pushing which was exciting for kids. An early riser, i took the cycle for rides on both days - one day towards the mountains (right side of the property) and next day towards the beautiful sunflower farms (other side) - seeing awesome views of sunrise over the mountains. Really enjoyed the fresh air and cycling around the numerous farms in the neighborhood. It would help to add a few games to play indoors - as it gets quite boring in the hot summers during the day time. Overall, if you are prepared with odomas for mosquitoes and are not bothered by ants, insects etc, you can enjoy the beautiful natural setting offered. Also another beautiful part was the crafts that Naganna showed kids how to make from coconut leaf - whistle, wrist band and deer - simply awesome 🙂 More

We cousins were extremely happy about the fact that our children loved the indoor and outdoor games, village tours and the bullock cart ride that were organized by the team. I would recommend ChukkiMane to my friends and would also assure you to revisit the farm once again More

I and my fiancee wanted to celebrate new year in a pet friendly resort and found this place on internet (note again "RESORT"). I called on the number and inquired the followings -

Now, coming to the reality - I booked the place for 31st and 1st (2 night stay). on 31st night when I reached the place at 8.30 PM via CAB, Sanjay(owner) welcomed us and asked us to carry the luggage (Wait what? No staff to carry our luggage to the room?). We picked up our luggage and moved to room he showed. Room was nicely maintain with two double beds in a wooden house BUT .. wait.. No TV, No WIFI, No Telephone, No water bottles & no refreshments???
Anyway we stayed there and suddenly Owner asked us to get ready and come in the ground for some activities. Okay.. It was 9:30 PM now and we got ready & reached the ground. It was round chair arrangement with campfire in the middle. 2 3 family was there along with their kids of age 5 - 10). In total there were only 15 16 people (As they mentioned, there was no CROWD). Now, owner started to begin his speech which was painful to listen. It was about his own Chukkimane objective. Once he completed after 30 minutes it was already 10:20 PM, he did not even care if people are hungry and started kannada plain music.
Well, there was no youth who could dance at such a bad simple music. When we started our dinner, there was no Non Veg option was owner did not allow it. We still somehow started eating the food (Hard cold chappati, cold dal, rice, 2 veg sabji) and the taste was awful.
After we finished eating, Owner gathered everyone around and asked to discuss on TOPIC - Conservation of water, soil, trees etc. Wait what??? Is it even a new year celebration activity. All of us got bored and it was 11:45 PM, i headed to my room in a bad mood. At sharp 12 midnight, owner came to my room and wished Happy new year and asked how's the place and discussed Conservation topic for 15 20 mins
NEXT DAY -
We got up at 6 AM and explored the place. Place was natural and we found different fruit trees everywhere. till 8 AM we visited the entire area.
8:30 AM: One of the staff came and called us for tea and breakfast.) We had coffee and breakfast and this time we sat bit far from the owner because he was already talking so much on Conservation again with other families.
9:30 AM - Owner called of the families (including us) for farm visit. We gathered, and again he started to give his torturing lecture on conservation and all of us got really bored.. (No activities at all). In the middle of his lecture of almost 1.5 hours, we left him and went to our room. Now, WHAT TO DO HERE - no wifi, no network, no water, no telephone, no nearby place, no ATM, nothing at all.
We immediately decided to go back to Bangalore. Now, as they said CAB will be available, there was no CAB. But, luckily we already booked a round trip cab with us.
Definitely, it's not a RESORT OR HOMESTAY but definitely an AGRICULTURE school where you take admission for the lectures. Good luck! More
