Archery is the practice or skill of using a bow to propel arrows. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat. In modern times, it is mainly a competitive sport and recreational activity. A person who participates in archery is typically called an archer or a bowman.

How playing Archery would be beneficial?

1. Archery can be played by anyone
Archery can be done by able bodied and disabled people. People with the most severe disabilities and even the blind, using special tactile equipment are able to join in.

2. It is a physically demanding sport
It is a fun sport, but archery is physically very demanding and those wish to progress may want to think about improving upper body strength for greater control.

3. It improves focus
Archers require not only some physical strength, but also mental fitness and they develop their focus, flexibility and attention skills.

4. It is relatively inexpensive
Archery can be an affordable sport if you just want to play for fun. However, if you want to compete, then there will be a price and also requires a dedicated time.

5. It improves patience
Archery is useful for youngsters but not limited to them, which doesn’t have any age limit as such. Anyone and everyone needs to learn about patience, which the “ARCHERY” can get them.

6. It is an indoor and outdoor sport
Archery can be practised both indoors and outdoors. it doesn’t have limitations on the place.

7. It is a social sport
Almost every age group can participate and children as young as 6 or 7 have taken well to the sport, while it is not unheard of for people in their 80’s to be shooting competitively. It also teaches the benefits of teamwork in some cases with some competitions involving group of people.

8. It improves self-confidence
Archery can have great effect on health, both mentally and physically. Whatever the results at the target, every archer is able to draw satisfaction to a lesser or greater extent, from having won a personal mental battle.

The sport can be extremely dangerous if people are reckless. Archery teaches everyone to be responsible for one another and also for the equipment they are using.
