Ingredients to make Sajje Rotti (Pearl Millet Roti)

    • Pearl Millet : 3 Cups.
    • Boiling water : 3 Cups
    • Normal water : as required
    • Salt : as required.

    Directions to make Sajje Rotti (Pearl Millet Roti):

      • Put Pearl Millet in a big bowl. add salt and mix it well.
      • Pour boiling water and leave it for 5 minutes.
      • Mix well and kneed the dough (chapati consistency) using required water.
      • Keep a bowl of water and a clean cotton towel by the side of the stove.
      • Keep 1/2 cup of dry pearl millet flour in a small bowl.
      • Kneed the dough and divide in to small portion.
      • Take a small portion of the dough and dip in to dry flour.
      • Roll it as chapati using a roller.
      • Keep a pan on the fire and heat. Put the rolled roti and cook.
      • Dip the clean towel in the water. Squeeze out the extra water and just press roti with wet cloth.
      • Turn the roti other side and cook on that side. Repeat using the wet cloth on the roti.
      • This will help to remove the extra flour on the top of the roti and roti turns soft and fluffy.
